We have to make sure we invest in our students, teachers, and staff – we owe it to the tax payer to make sure we are prudent with every dollar. –Josh

If you elect me to the Board of Education this is what I would like to do:

1. Start a Parent Advisory Committee to help us find text books and curriculum that works for families. So many parents are struggling to help their kids at home.

2. Look at the Virginia Beach Schools Food service program where they cook from scratch. They are turning a profit, making healthy food, and making better tasting food.

3. Tour all the schools with the Board of Education and Board of Commissioners. We need a shared vision on what the schools need and this is a start.

4. Examine every budget item for savings and hire needed staff members with it. Especially more teacher assistants in the elementary schools because that is the foundation for learning.

5. Have a budget retreat where the School Board understands the budget in depth and sets out priorities.
